Does a Caffeine Headache Bother You Every Morning?

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

I have suffered from several caffeine headaches because I drink a lot of caffeine through out the day. In fact, I had quite a caffeine withdrawal headache this morning because I slept until eleven. I usually wake up at seven in the morning, but the Red Sox are playing in Arizona this weekend and the games don’t start until ten at night. I got to bed late and therefore woke up late. My head was pounding from a caffeine headache and I knew immediately that I had to get some coffee inside of me. (more…)

Chronic Sinus Headaches Are Treatable

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

What many people think are chronic sinus headaches may in fact not be that at all. Just because you have pain occurring in the sinus area does not mean it is a sinus headache. In fact, chronic sinus headaches are not seen often by doctors. Of course, if you are experiencing any chronic pain you should see a doctor immediately. Also, sign up for my newsletter to receive tips on how to cure headaches naturally and stay healthy overall.

Another fact that goes against common sense is that a chronic sinus headache is not as uncomfortable and painful as an acute one.  When sinuses are clogged bacteria can grow in the nasal passages creating an infection of the nasal passages commonly known as a sinus infection.

An acute sinus infection is actually quite painful and the pain can’t be treated by the most popular over the counter medications.  Chronic sinus headaches and acute sinus headaches will often require antibiotics to kill the infection as well as medications to alleviate the sinus pain.

How Do Migraine Headaches Factor In

Quite often, chronic sinus headaches are mistaken for what are actually migraine headaches. The pain occurs in much the same places in the face and head. However, the cause of migraine headaches are varied and rarely are related to an illness.

If an allergy does exist it would not cause a sinus headache, because with allergies such as pollen, dander, or dust which cause nasal drainage. The fact that there is drainage omits the possibility of chronic sinus headache occurrences.

Moreover, many people take over the counter medications for sinus headaches such as sinus relief medicines, allergy medicines, or other pain relieving medication. However, these medications often will have no effect on the headache.

Tension Headaches

Others mistake tension headaches for chronic sinus headache due to the nature of the pain.  Tension headaches can cause pain in the temples and across the forehead. Because of this many people do mistake tension headaches for chronic sinus headaches.

Regardless of the kind of pain you are experiencing if it is chronic there are 2 things you must do. First, you must tell your doctor if you already haven’t. Chronic sinus headaches can be pretty serious and should be treated immediately.

Second, if you are having any kind of chronic headache pain I would bet that it has something to do with your diet or physical health. You could be eating something that you are actually allergic to and as a result you get headaches. Do you exercise and manage stress properly. Pent up stress can lead to tension headaches, which are often chronic in nature. Also, be sure to sign up for my newsletter for health tips.

Suffering From A Chronic Headache?

Basics Of The Chronic Headache

-
A chronic headache is one that occurs almost everyday over a long period of time. An acute headache, on the other hand, is one that occurs only once due to having a cold or eating something. If you have chronic headaches, you should tell your doctor immediately.

Chronic headaches are not necessarily bad. In many cases, these headaches are the result of not properly dealing with stress on a daily basis. People with chronic headaches often worry that they have a brain tumor or some other dreaded disease but these diseases more often have other symptoms before headaches occur and the headaches associated with such disease will usually come on suddenly and severely. Chronic headaches can often be treated quite easily once you find the cause.

Chronic Headaches And Migraine Headaches

Migraines are chronic headaches. Migraines are probably the least understood of all headaches but recent advances in medicine have made treatment of migraines much more successful. People who suffer with migraines complain of sudden, severe throbbing pain usually on one side of the head. Bright light and loud noise are triggers of migraine headaches.

Sleeping in a dark area with no noise is the remedy of choice for many migraine sufferers. No one truly knows what sets off a migraine headache. It may be anything from flashing lights to some type of chemical reaction in the body. A physician can prescribe medication for the migraines and many of the recently discovered medications work well.

Additional Chronic Headaches Causes

In addition to migraines, other causes of chronic headaches abound. Sinus headaches and tension headaches which are left untreated can easily become chronic headaches. Certain types of allergies may cause headaches until they are diagnosed and treated. It is my suspicion that many chronic headache sufferers are actually sensitive to the chemicals in the processed foods they eat and don’t even realize it.

In addition to seeing a doctor, the best thing you can do for chronic headaches is to first properly deal with stress. EFT and the Insight CDs are a good way to do this. Second, start keeping a headache journal. Write down everything you eat and the quantities from the moment you wake until when you go to sleep at night. This will help you connect your chronic headache to anything in your diet that might be causing it.

Migraine Headache Remedies That Work

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

There are many migraine headache remedies available, but since one size does not fit all, you will have to experiment to find one that works for you. But, first of all, if you are experiencing chronic headache pain but haven’t yet seen a doctor, then please do. You should not attempt to treat any chronic condition on your own as chronic pain of any sort is usually a sign of something more serious. (more…)

Are you suffering from a burning headache? Here’s Why.

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

Burning headaches plague more people than you may have previously imagined. The term is not a medically recognized condition, but rather is just a layman term that is used quite often and universally to describe this annoying condition.

Have you been able to determine what might be the cause of your headaches on your own? People often are the best diagnosticians of their own conditions. I remember I was suffering from headaches for a couple days when I realized it was the bottled water I was drinking. Needless to say, I stopped drinking that water. Here are some possible causes of the burning headache.

What Area Of Your Head Hurts?

The burning headache might actually be a sinus headache. In that case, the pain is usually on the frontal part of the head, on the forehead, upper cheeks, and sometimes can even travel around the whole face. In other cases, this burning headache can be caused by fever. In this, the pain is usually on both sides of the forehead, which are the weakest points of sensitivity in our head.

Some Possible Culprits

We know that a fever can cause a burning headache and we also know that it can be caused by sinuses. In these cases, the pain is constant, and can be stinging and tingling, and not to mention burning. It can originate from any side of the head, but usually after a while it will travel to other areas as well. Some people tend to get thrusts of extreme pains. Although medically there is no proof as to what causes this sudden uprising in the burning headache symptoms, it is believed to be caused by pulsating nerves due to tension.

There are also some other causes of a burning headache. These are more serious cases such as tumors or growth in the head. In such cases, the pain is not constant like the ones listed above, but comes on and off. The pain is usually violent, far stronger than the ones you get for fever, and not to forget; it pulsates often.

It is likely that the bottled water that was giving me the burning headache was the result of chemicals. This could be the case with you as well.  Acute mercury poisoning can also cause terrible headaches along with other heavy metals. Furthermore, you could be having allergic reactions to chemicals in foods you are eating that could be giving you a headache.

A big part of finding out what is causing your burning headache is to pay close attention to what you are eating and drinking. Go on a simple diet and then, one-by-one, add the foods you like until you start getting headaches again. This way you will know what is food or beverage is the culprit.

It is also believed that toxins and chemicals can also cause acute or burning headache. This is pretty common to many people, especially those who are not so favorable of newly painted houses, chemical labs, and so on. On top of these, even certain edible toxins and foods can cause burning headache, such as alcohol, caffeine, and so on. Alcohol and caffeine especially, are believed to be causes of many serious headaches that can cause the whole head to ache severely, with the nerves being extremely tensed.
